Global Technical Platform Director - Substrate Protection at PPG Industries in Allison Park, PA
Key Responsibilities Lead the SPS CoE teams to develop innovative, new global platforms with global formulation guidelines. Provide vision and direction through inspirational leadership. Establish strategic global product/platform roadmaps for the technology with strategic marketing, segment and product management in line with the global business strategy. Work in conjunction with the research, customer development, and product/project management teams for timely execution and commercialization of new products. Encourage an innovative, agile and team oriented environment while driving engagement of the broader SPS team. Influence decisions with clear vision, strategy, relationship, coupled with deep customer and segment knowledge by communicating proactively up, down, and across the organization. Establish trust and respect internally across the PPG science and technology community, as well as externally with customers, suppliers, universities, and potential business partners. Lead authentically by building, developing, and empowering top talent and team performance. Drive compliance with PPG Environmental, Health and Safety policies. Create and own formulation guidelines for new product platforms and provide standard formulation training to customer development team. Ensure gatekeeper and portfolio management teams are in place and fully applied, as well as establish metrics and objectives. Qualifications A master or PhD degree in chemistry, materials science or engineering subject area. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a product development leadership role with a track record of authentic and inspirational leadership, multi-functional collaboration, customer intimacy, and organic growth via innovation. Experience with coatings technologies, resins, or water borne epoxies is required. Experience with Ecoat or pretreatment is preferred but not required.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
